Christ looks past earth’s treasure to a heart of gold
That belongs to a soul whose faith is bold
Who conquers temptations and trials cold
That into Satan’s camp will not be sold
All to meet Him one day on the streets of gold
Where all troubles cease, and burdens rolled
But until that day to His promises they’ll hold
Till’ all the earth’s last events unfold.
They bought eyesalve, white raiment, and faith that was tried as gold
Faced afflictions, sorrows, persecution, scold
All for Christ’s name they were looked at as mold
But kept going as did those of old
Their love for Christ shined as a heart of gold.
