This post is a collection of scriptures that are calculated to wake up the “slumbering saints”, so to speak. Some live with the illusion that because they commited sin in secret, no one is aware of it. To speak plainly, nothing is hid from God. Do we think that we can deceive God by sinning “secretly?” God is all-knowing, and He cannot be deceived. Here is a quote from Ellen White that summarizes what I have just tried to put into text:
“When the Judgment shall sit, and the books shall be opened, there will be many astonishing disclosures. Men will not then appear as they appear to the human eyes and finite judgments. Secret sins will then be laid open to the view of all. Motives and intentions which have been hidden in the dark chambers of the heart will be revealed.”— Maranatha, 340:4
Here are 7 Bible passages that run along the same topic:
Luke 8:17: For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
Ecclesiastes 12:14: For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Matthew 10:26: Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
Mark 4:22: For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
Luke 12:2-3: For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. 3Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
1 Corinthians 4:5: Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the LORD come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Romans 2:16: In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Here are two verses and Spirit of Prophecy quotation that speak about the Investigative Judgement.
