CS - Counsels on Stewardship (1940) Chapter 7— The Work Must Not Stop

[An appeal made by Mrs. White in 1886. Written from Europe.] If we indeed have the truth for these last days, it must be carried to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. Erelong the living and the dead are to be judged according to the deeds done in the body, and the law of God is the standard by which they are to be tested. Then they must now be warned; God’s holy law must be vindicated, and held up before them as a mirror. To accomplish this work, means is needed. I know that times are hard, money is not plenty; but the truth must be spread, and money to spread it must be placed in the treasury.... {CS 39.2}

These truths are as important today as they were back in 1886. In fact, the message needs to go out with more urgency today, as the events of this day are indicating the time is at hand. The gospel message is for all and must be carried to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. The prophecies and solemn warnings of the Bible provide the sign posts for all to see that the Kingdom of God is at hand. Carrying out the plan of salvation requires workers and money. Every bit helps and is counted in the treasury of heaven as going to the work of saving souls, and we all want to go to heaven.

Dear kind and gracious Father,

We thank You for giving us the privilege of being co laborers with You in carrying out the plan of salvation. We pray that You will continue to give us strength to labor to acquire means, which can then go towards the real work You require of us to do. Many souls are out there perishing and it is our duty to help them receive Your gospel message. The time is at hand, please help us help those in need. Keep us faithful in our giving and may You receive all the glory. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
