Call to Worship
Psalms 34:7
34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
Desire of Ages 240
So, in all ages, angels have been near to Christ’s faithful followers. The vast confederacy of evil is arrayed against all who would overcome; but Christ would have us look to the things which are not seen, to the armies of heaven encamped about all who love God, to deliver them. From what dangers, seen and unseen, we have been preserved through the interposition of the angels, we shall never know, until in the light of eternity we see the providences of God. Then we shall know that the whole family of heaven was interested in the family here below, and that messengers from the throne of God attended our steps from day to day. {DA 240.3}
2 Kings 6:15-17
6:15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
6:16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that [be] with us [are] more than they that [be] with them.
6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain [was] full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Just as in this account with Elisha, we must open our eyes and see that we are not alone. Satan comes at us every day, so we must open our eyes and see that we have God’s angels all around us, for they that [be] with us [are] more than they that [be] with them. We must believe and trust in God, and He will deliver us. So, when we get to heaven, we will know that messengers from the Throne of God attended our steps each and every day.
Our Father, God Almighty,
We come to the foot of Your throne in Thanksgiving and prayer. We thank You for always having Your heavenly angels round about us, keeping us safe from the enemy. We pray for continued strength and power from Your word that we may open our eyes and see that You are with us. Help our unbelief, increase our faith. If You are with us, who can be against us. We pray that You bless our worship, that it may be favorable in Your sight. Bless us as we receive the message You have for us this day. Bless all the families and all the individuals here. Keep us faithful. Forgive us of our sins. We thank You for all that You do for us, everything that You have done for us, and everything that You will do for us, and we thank You in advance for all the blessings You have in store for us. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers and it’s in the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
