Dear Reader,

Books / Pr - Prayer (2002) / Chapter 3—God Hears Prayer

God Hears Every Sincere Prayer—The Bible shows us God in His high and holy place, not in a state of inactivity, not in silence and solitude, but surrounded by ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands of holy intelligences, all waiting to do His will. Through channels which we cannot discern He is in active communication with every part of His dominion. But it is in this speck of a world, in the souls that He gave His only-begotten Son to save, that His interest and the interest of all heaven is centered. God is bending from His throne to hear the cry of the oppressed. To every sincere prayer He answers, “Here am I.” He uplifts the distressed and downtrodden. In all our afflictions He is afflicted. In every temptation and every trial the angel of His presence is near to deliver.—(The Desire of Ages, 356.) {Pr 35.1}

God the Father, God the Son, God the Spirit, all ready to hear and answer every sincere prayer. God camps around us His heavenly angels, ready to do His will at the speed of thought. Ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands of the heavenly host keeping a hedge round about us, ready to deliver us from the evils, dangers, and temptations of this world. While we do not see their activity, rest assured the angel of His presence is near. The almighty “I Am” is ready to hear and answer your sincere prayer. For the things that are seen are temporal, but the things that are not seen are eternal.

Our Father, God almighty,

We are thankful and grateful to have the opportunity to be able to come into Your presence with our petitions. You are the great “I Am”. All things were made by You; and without You was not anything made that was made. We thank You for making us and giving us Your breath of life. Though we are merely a speck in a speck of a world, You love us so much that You gave Your only begotten Son to save us from our sin. We thank You for saving us from our sin, and not in our sin. For redeeming us that we may have eternal life with You and all Your heavenly host. We thank You for keeping all Your angels round about us ready to do Your will. For keeping a hedge around us to keep us safe from Satan, his demons, and all the people and devices he works through. For giving us the victory over sin. It is our sincere prayer that we will be saved on Your great day to come. That we may see You, as every eye will see You, to be amongst the saints translated and caught up in the cloud of Your heavenly host that escorts us to the heavenly kingdom. We pray that our brothers and sisters, friends and family, neighbors and strangers within our gates will be with us as well. May our dearly beloved who have passed away, sleeping in the grave, have lived up to the light they had and be with the dead in Christ who will rise first. What a day of rejoicing that will be. Until Your day comes, we pray for Your Spirit, the comforter, to comfort us that we may comfort them that need comforting. Save us dear Lord, bless us and keep us, heal us, and forgive us of our sins. We pray in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
