Call to Worship
Matthew 3: 1-2
3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
This is our call today as much as it was then. It is urgent for us to repent now, as sin is what separates us from God. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So, we have a choice: sin and death, or God and everlasting life. We must confess our sins now, repent from those sins, and not return to our own vomit like a dog. If we hold on to any sins, our prayers will fall to the ground and no answer will come. We want to hear from God so it is time now to Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Our Father, God Almighty,
We thank You for the honor and privilege of being able to come into Your presence. We thank You for giving us Your word of life, teaching us Your way. You are the way, the truth, and the life. You have called us to repent, to turn away from sin, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Let our obedience to Your word be favorable and well pleasing in Your sight. Open our eyes, ears, minds, and hearts so that we may receive the message You have for us this day. Bless all the families and individuals here. Save us and forgive us of our sins, the known and the unknown. Create in us a clean heart. We thank you for hearing and answering our prayers and we thank You for giving us the victory over sin. All these things we ask and pray, and it’s in the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
