Call to Worship

Isaiah 49: 24-25

49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

49:25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

The Lord God through Jesus Christ holds out His hand all the day long in invitation to the sinful and fallen. He will receive all. He welcomes all. It is His glory to pardon the chief of sinners. He will take the prey from the mighty, He will deliver the captive, He will pluck the brand from the burning. He will lower the golden chain of His mercy to the lowest depths of human wretchedness, and lift up the debased soul contaminated with sin. {MH 161.3}

This is our reminder to never let go of God, as He will never let go of us. He will lift us from the bottom of the pit with His golden chain of mercy, even while in the lowest depths of human wretchedness. Go to God in true repentance with contrition of soul and He will save you from your sin. Give up your sinful life. Accept His invitation to come to Him and He will deliver you from Satan’s grip, who desires to have you, to sift you as wheat. The Lord has promised that He will contend with him that contendeth with thee. Today, allow the power from above to make you free and give glory to God for all He has done for you.

Our Father, God almighty,

We thank You for all that You have done for us. For loving us so much that You would take our sin upon Yourself so that we would be made free from sin. We are sorry and humbly repent of our sins. We ask for forgiveness, that You cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We pray for Your continued protection from Satan, his demons, and all who he works through. We pray for a special hedge to be placed around us, our families, and all our loved ones. We are Your children, and as members of Your Royal Family, thank You for pardoning us. We thank You and praise You, and it’s in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
