Stewardship

CS - Counsels on Stewardship (1940) Chapter 20— Restitution With Contrition

Wherever there has been any neglect on your part to give back to the Lord His own, repent with contrition of soul, and make restitution, lest His curse rest upon you.... When you have done what you can on your part, withholding nothing that belongs to your Maker, you may ask Him to provide means to send the message of truth to the world.—The Review and Herald, January 20, 1885. {CS 98.1}

We cannot go back in time to do or undo something. We can however, make up for our shortcomings. Maybe not all at once, but making a diligent effort will help chip away at the stone. If we make an effort and walk by faith, God will do for us what we are not able to do for ourselves. Watch, work, and pray. Go to God with contrition of soul and pray for His help and blessings. God loves us all and calls us to come to Him as soon as possible. We do not know what tomorrow will bring, but He does. Diligently seek His face and He will provide.

Our kind and gracious Father,

We faithfully come seeking Your face and to hear Your voice. We know You speak to us through Your Word, but we long to hear Your voice speak to us directly and that we hear and understand Your message to us. We pray that You tell us the way we should go and how to get there. We pray to make up our shortcomings but need Your help to get there. We cannot do anything by our own strength, so we pray that You grant us Your strength and courage to move the mountains in our lives’. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
