Call to Worship

1 John 5: 14,15

5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Faith is an essential element of prevailing prayer. “He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." If we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: and if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.” Hebrews 11:6; 1 John 5:14, 15. With the persevering faith of Jacob, with the unyielding persistence of Elijah, we may present our petitions to the Father, claiming all that He has promised. The honor of His throne is staked for the fulfillment of His word. — (Prophets and Kings, 155-158.) {Pr 139.1}

We serve a mighty God. He is a rewarder of those that seek Him. His promise is that if we ask anything, according to His will, we shall receive. But we have to ask in faith and have confidence that when we speak and come to God in prayer, diligently seeking our Lord, He will hear and answer our prayers. Persevering and persistently claiming God’s promises that He may fulfill His word. Let us come humbly, yet boldly, to the foot of His throne and faithfully claim God’s promises.

Our Father, God almighty,

We thank You for giving us yet another opportunity to be able to come to the foot of Your throne and claim all of Your wonderful promises. We thank You and praise You for all of the blessings that You continue to bestow upon us. Though we have sinned against You, You continue to hear and answer our prayers. We are sorry, and repent of our sins. We ask for the forgiveness of our sins, that You may cleanse us of all unrighteousness. As the prophets before us, we faithfully and confidently present our petitions to You and claim all that You have promised. We thank You in advance for hearing and answering our prayers. We ask and pray all these things, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
