Call to Worship

Acts 1: 8

1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Thus Christ gave His disciples their commission. He made full provision for the prosecution of the work, and took upon Himself the responsibility for its success. So long as they obeyed His word, and worked in connection with Him, they could not fail. Go to all nations, He bade them. Go to the farthest part of the habitable globe, but know that My presence will be there. Labor in faith and confidence, for the time will never come when I will forsake you. {DA 822.1}

Just as the twelve disciples received their commission from Christ, we too have been appointed the same work of salvation. Christ has given us His missionary marching orders to go preach and teach the everlasting gospel to all mankind. Christ has given us His assurance that He will be with us whithersover we goest, giving us the freedom to labor in faith and confidence. Know for certain that the power of the Holy Ghost is upon us to witness to all nations of the One that gave all for us. Shout aloud Hosanna for all to hear what Jesus has done in your life.

Our Father, which art in heaven,

We thank You for giving us the privilege to be able to come to Your throne of grace in prayer. We thank You for the sacrifice You made of Your only begotten son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. We are truly sorry and humbly repent of our sins and pray for Your forgiveness. We pray that You continue to pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us that we may go forth proclaiming the everlasting gospel to the four corners of the world. We are Your servants and Your vessels and pray that You continue to use us in connection with the prosecution of Your work. We thank You for Your continual presence in our life and the constant love You shower us with. Keep us strong and faithful in the work, we pray, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
