Genesis 1: 1
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God Is Love—
“God is love” (1 John 4:16). His nature, His law, is love. It ever has been; it ever will be. “The high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity” (Isaiah 57:15), whose “ways are everlasting” (Habakkuk 3:6), changeth not. With Him “is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17). {1MCP 247.1}
Every manifestation of creative power is an expression of infinite love. The sovereignty of God involves fullness of blessing to all created beings.... {1MCP 247.2}
The history of the great conflict between good and evil, from the time it first began in heaven to the final overthrow of rebellion and the total eradication of sin, is also a demonstration of God’s unchanging love.—Patriarchs and Prophets, 33 (1890). {1MCP 247.3}
By God’s grace, sinful and wretched man still exists today. It is out of God’s love for us that we are not consumed. God created man in His image as an expression of His infinite love for His children. Though God granted us the freedom of choice, He longs for us to love Him, as He first loved us. He calls us to turn from our sins, and return unto Him, for He has redeemed us. He gives us the power over sin that we may claim the victory that Jesus won on the cross at Calvary. This is a demonstration of His unchanging love for us. God is love.
Dear God,
We come to the foot of Your throne and give You thanks and praise for loving us the way You do. We are wretched and sinful, and have come short of Your glory. Yet, You still love us the same. We thank You for the sacrifice You made, for combining Your divinity with humanity so that we can all claim the victory over sin. We pray that You help us overcome, as You also overcame, that we would sin no more. We are eternally grateful of Your infinite love for us. We thank You for giving us the honor and the privilege of being heirs to the royal family. We thank You and praise You, we love You, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
