Ministers to Be Untiring in Prayer

Written by: John Sernaque

Dear Reader.

Books / Pr - Prayer (2002) / Chapter 6—The Prayer Of Faith

Ministers to Be Untiring in Prayer—Ministers should seek a heart preparation before entering upon the work of helping others, for the people are far in advance of many of the ministers. They should untiringly wrestle in prayer until the Lord blesses them. When the love of God is burning on the altar of their hearts, they will not preach to exhibit their own smartness, but to present Christ who taketh away the sins of the world.—(Testimonies for the Church 5:166.) {Pr 61.4}

The Remedy for Discouragement Is Faith, Prayer, and Work—For all who are disheartened there is but one remedy,—faith, prayer, and work.—( Testimonies for the Church 6:438.) {Pr 62.1}

Prayer Is the Weapon by Which We Resist the Enemy—Christ is our only hope. Come to God in the name of Him who gave His life for the life of the world. Rely upon the efficacy of His sacrifice. Show that His love, His joy, is in your soul, and that because of this, your joy is full. In God is our strength. Pray much. Prayer is the life of the soul. The prayer of faith is the weapon by which we may successfully resist every assault of the enemy.—(The Signs of the Times, August 24, 1904.) {Pr 62.2}

Pray without ceasing. From the youngest to the elders and ministers of the church, without prayer the church is dead. The love of God, and what Christ did for His children, prepares the leaders and ministers of the church. Through heartfelt, faithful prayer, the people are encouraged and lifted up to rise above their trials and tribulations. Prayer is the weapon, with the use of the two edged sword, to combat Satan and his minions. While out in the battlefield, prayer will help you overcome the wiles of Satan. Faith, prayer, and work is the key to defeating the enemy of God and His children.

Our kind and gracious Father,

We come to You, by faith, in praise and thanksgiving. We humbly bring our petitions before You and seek Your face. We pray that You speak to us and that we may hear Your voice. We will follow wherever the Lamb leads, who taketh away the sins of the world. We pray that we may understand Your message to us and fulfill Your will for us in our lives’. We thank You for the wonderful gift or prayer, our lifeline to You in heaven and our weapon here on earth to use against our wily foe. We could not have made it this far in the world where Satan roams about, without the Power You have given to us through prayer. We thank You for always being there to hear and answer our prayers. We know that we are never alone. When we are down, discouraged, or facing our trials head on, we know that we have Your promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us. We pray for all the children and leaders of the church to pray without ceasing, to stay in continual communion with You, to not let go of You, as You will not let go of us. We pray that no one is able to pluck us out of Your right hand of power. You are our only hope. Your love and joy lives in our souls, which makes our joy full. We are eternally grateful for Your sacrifice on the cross at Calvary. We thank You for saving us from our sins and pray that we are worthy to have our names written in Your book of life. We are sorry, repent of our sins and pray for forgiveness. We pray that You take off our filthy rags and clothe us in the white robe of righteousness. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers and for giving us the victory over sin. We pray in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
