Call to Worship

Matthew 28: 18-20

28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

A Friend at Court- {ST October 25, 1899, par. 6}

What a friend we have at court! After His resurrection Christ spoke to His disciples, saying: “All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” This promise is as surely given to the people of God in 1899 as it was to those in whose hearing Christ spoke. {ST October 25, 1899, par. 6} Signs of the Times

Facilities of Heaven Pledged— {5BC 1110.8}

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the three holy dignitaries of heaven, have declared that they will strengthen men to overcome the powers of darkness. All the facilities of heaven are pledged to those who by their baptismal vows have entered into a covenant with God (Manuscript 92, 1901). {5BC 1110.8}

Jesus has empowered us all to go out and teach. As Sister White writes, this command is as surely given to the people of God in 1899 as it was to those in whose hearing Christ spoke. The same can be said for us today. We all have an urgent work to do. It is through The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the three holy dignitaries of heaven, that we will receive the strength to overcome the powers of darkness and continue with the work of teaching all nations to observe all things whatsoever commanded us. So, let us pray for each other and for the work that is here right now and ahead of us. As Jesus promised, He will be with us always, even unto the end of the world.

Our Father, which art in Heaven,

We thank You for giving us this privilege of being able to serve You in going forward with the work of salvation. For giving us the strength to battle the powers of darkness. For Your promise that You will always be with us, even to the end of the world. We are honored to be entrusted by You to go forth teaching men all things You have commanded us. It is our prayer that as we go out doing Your work, that everything we say and do will be for the Glory of Your Name. May we be worthy of having our names written in Your book of life. Save us and forgive us of our sins, the known and the unknown. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
