Dear Reader,
The damp air chilled his lungs as it filled them. Sickness had come over him. His frame was racked as he coughed. He could not see. There was barely enough ventilation for air to keep him breathing. No pains were taken to ensure his comfort. The dungeon was a dismal place meant for the worst of criminals. His crime was believing that, “God speaking in the Bible, and not the church speaking through the priesthood, is the one infallible guide.” (Wylie, b. 3, ch.2.) {GC 102.1} John Huss had found himself in prison for wanting the image of Jesus to be exalted and for desiring that no man be idolized.
Christ Jesus Ministries desires the same end that John Huss desired. Ultimately, the most important person of Christ Jesus Ministries is not any speaker, writer, editor, or worker. The most important person, and truthfully, the one who makes it all possible, is God and God alone.
Christ Jesus Ministries has been in official existence since May 4th, 2019. It is now May 4th, 2020. Thus, thanks to the grace of God and your support, Christ Jesus Ministries has seen its way through the first year of its existence.
In this year, we have produced several faith-building series. Genesis Under a Microscope defends Biblical Creation. Current Topics in Science explores the origins issue and has featured numerous special guests, all of whom desire to uphold the teachings of Scripture. The Pilate’s Interview podcasts explores important Truths of Scripture, like the truth about the Godhead. Each of these resources, and the resources that are to come, are designed to uplift the person of Christ Jesus.
Christ Jesus Ministries has also gotten to support the needy with food, water, Bibles, Spirit of Prophecy books, and other items as the Christ Jesus Ministries workers engaged in the work of Welfare Ministry.
I will close with these words from Ellen White’s masterpiece the Great Controversy:
In the gloom of his dungeon he foresaw the triumph of the true faith. Returning in his dreams to the chapel at Prague where he had preached the gospel, he saw the pope and his bishops effacing the pictures of Christ which he had painted on its walls. “This vision distressed him: but on the next day he saw many painters occupied in restoring these figures in greater number and in brighter colors. As soon as their task was ended, the painters, who were surrounded by an immense crowd, exclaimed, ‘Now let the popes and bishops come; they shall never efface them more!’” Said the Reformer, as he related his dream: “I maintain this for certain, that the image of Christ will never be effaced. They have wished to destroy it, but it shall be painted afresh in all hearts by much better preachers than myself.”—D’Aubigne, b. 1, ch. 6. {GC 108.1}
