What was God's Original Diet for Us?

Numbers 11:4

11:4 And the mixed multitude that [was] among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

Diet Modified Disposition, Activated Mind—

The state of the mind has largely to do with the health of the body, and especially with the health of the digestive organs. As a general thing, the Lord did not provide His people with flesh meat in the desert, because He knew that the use of this diet would create disease and insubordination. In order to modify the disposition, and bring the higher powers of the mind into active exercise, He removed from them the flesh of dead animals. He gave them angel’s food, manna from heaven (Manuscript 38, 1898). {1BC 1112.8}

God set down His health laws for us that we may live life more abundantly. Those that follow Biblical health principles on average live longer and healthier lives’. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Genesis 1:29. “For meat” here means for food. There was no meat eating in God’s plan for us. After the flood, the exception was made for eating meat as floodwaters had decimated all plant life. Yet, this was only to be “for a season” to allow the earth to replenish plant life. The health of the digestive organs is crucial in maintaining overall optimal health. Digesting food is the most taxing process the human body goes through on a daily basis. It can take days for the system to digest meat, and often time is not completely digested and builds up in the system. Whereas a plant-based diet nourishes the mind and body, cleans the system and helps in removing harmful toxins. A flesh eating diet creates disease and insubordination. Do you prefer to be like the Israelites and lust for flesh to eat, or, choose angel’s food, manna from heaven? I choose to follow God and not the lusts of man. Amen.

Our kind and gracious heavenly Father,

We come into Your presence with thanksgiving, praise, and prayer. We thank You so much for giving us Your Word to live by. For providing us the guide to life and how to live it more abundantly. We thank You for giving us Your health principles that keep our minds and bodies healthy and strong. Thank you for giving these principles to us from the very beginning to every one of Your children. We pray for all Your children to take heed to all of Your commandments. You set them in place for our edification and our wellbeing. Help us to understand and learn of all Your ways that we may follow Thee wherever You lead. Grant us strength, courage, and wisdom to go forward in continuing to walk on the path to heaven set before us and not follow mammon on the road to perdition. Help us not to lust after the things of this world or of our fleshly desires. Thank You for giving us these examples, such as the Israelites, as to what to do and not to do. We pray that we receive Your continual blessings of manna from heaven. We thank You for providing all our needs in abundance. We pray for the continued provision of the plants, herbs, and seeds You have given us for food, that they may nourish and strengthen our minds and bodies. Help us to bring the higher powers of the mind into active exercise. Help us to remove any diet that creates disease and insubordination. Please keep us healthy. As You healed the people when You walked this earth, touch us with Your healing hand, speak Your healing words unto us, and make us whole. Heal us and we shall be healed. Save us and we shall be saved, for Thou art our praise. We thank You for hearing and answering our prayers, in the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.
